How to Measure and Choose the Right Wall Art Size (Using Our Website Sizes)Updated 3 hours ago

Picking the right size is easy when you start with your wall (or the furniture below it) and match it to the sizes shown on our product pages.

1) Find the sizes on the product page

On each product page, you’ll see the available size options (example: Small, Medium, Large) with exact dimensions.

Tip: Always choose based on the dimensions shown on the website — those are the sizes we produce.

2) Measure your wall or furniture width

Choose one:

  • Above a sofa, bed, console, or desk: measure the width of the furniture

  • On an empty wall with no furniture: measure the full wall width

Write the number down (in inches or cm — just stay consistent).

3) Use the simple sizing rule (fast + reliable)

A great rule designers use:

Your wall art should cover about 60–75% of the width of the wall or furniture below it.

How to calculate:

  • Measure width

  • Multiply by 0.6 (minimum)

  • Multiply by 0.75 (maximum)

That range is your ideal wall art width.

Example:
If your sofa is 80 in wide → ideal art width is 48–60 in.

Now choose the closest website size that fits this range.

4) Quick recommendations by space

Use this as a simple shortcut:

  • Small sizes: shelves, narrow walls, gallery walls, smaller rooms

  • Medium sizes: bedrooms, offices, standard wall sections

  • Large sizes: living rooms, above a sofa/bed, main focal wall

  • Extra large sizes: big empty walls, statement look, wide spaces

If you’re between two sizes, we usually recommend going bigger — it looks more intentional on the wall.

5) The easiest way to “preview” a size at home

Before ordering, you can test it in 2 minutes:

  • Use painter’s tape to outline the dimensions on your wall

  • Step back and look from where you normally sit/stand

  • If it feels small on the wall, size up

This is the best way to avoid “I wish I chose bigger.”

6) Still unsure? We can recommend a size

Send us:

  • your wall width (or furniture width)

  • the room type (living room / bedroom / office)

  • optional: a photo of the wall

And we’ll tell you which website size will look best.
